 Cobweb Cupcakes

Ingredients:

Gluten free chocolate cupcakes

Chocolate frosting

White chocolate chips

Parchment paper

Instructions:

  1. Make the cupcakes from scratch according to the recipe. Or make the cupcakes from a gluten free chocolate cake mix. Once cooled, frost with chocolate frosting. Option: use half of the cupcakes for this recipe, and half for the Cupcake Ghosts.
  2. Next, take a few pieces of parchment paper and draw spider web designs on it with a marker, as many as are needed to top the cupcakes. Flip the paper over.
  3. Melt the white chocolate chips slowly over low heat, stirring often with a spatula. (Follow these 17 steps for optimal results.) Pour the melted chocolate into a freezer Ziploc bag. Snip a little bit off of the corner with scissors. Trace the spider webs on the parchment paper with the chocolate.
  4. Once the chocolate has completely cooled, lift the designs from the paper and place carefully on the cupcakes.

Cheese Balls with Olive Spiders

Ingredients:

Block of cheddar cheese

Cheese balls

Olives

Instructions:

  1. Slice the block of cheese into thick slices. Use a small cookie cutter or a knife to trim the slices into circles. Prepare as many circles as you plan to serve. (As a variation, exchange the cheese circles for round gluten free crackers.)
  2. Follow the recipe to make a cheese ball, but do not coat it with nuts. Instead shape the plain cheese ball into smaller ones to place on top of the cheese circles.
  3. Take the olives and slice them in half. Use some of them for the spider torso, then slice the others into the legs. Arrange on top of the cheese ball as shown in the picture. Dab any leftover cheese from the cheese balls and dab on as the eyes.

Happy gluten free Halloween!
